Bordering the southern fringe of the world famous Snowdonia National Park, Ceredigion is a beautiful country in West Wales stretching from the stunning Cardigan Bay on the west coast to the sheltering Cambrian Mountains in the east. The 50 miles of coastline is pocketed with stretches of sandy beaches and the clear transparent sea off the coast is a popular summer residence for bottlenose dolphins. Take a boat trip from Cardigan Bay and see if you can spot them!

Aberystwyth is definitely worth a visit if not for the vibrant shops, beautiful beaches and working harbour than for the stirring castle and unique electric cliff railway crawling up the hillside rewarding you with the most spectacular panoramic views of not only Cardigan Bay, but the 26 mountain peaks spanning most of Wales. Just along the coast from Aberystwyth, Aberaeron is a hidden gem along the west coast of Ceredigion, with its independent shops, pretty colourful cottages, peaceful working harbour and breath-taking surrounding scenery.

When you've explored the coastline head inland and discover the Teifi Valley or Aeron Valley for some fantastic walks and cycling opportunities taking in the stunning sights and spotting the local wildlife. Catch the Vale of Rheidol Railway from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge Falls - a spectacular natural wonder in the Rheidol Gorge - and be blown away by the unique waterfalls and magical scenery.
