With so many stunning locations across the country, there are lots of great places to propose in Wales. From majestic castles, scenic settings, and cosy hideaways, you’ll be able to find the perfect spot to get down on one knee and ask your loved one that very big and important question. To help you plan your big proposal, we’ve picked out some of the most memorable, picturesque and perfect places to propose in Wales.
Holding the title of Britain’s first ever Area of Outstanding Beauty, the Gower Peninsula (above) is a gorgeous, peaceful stretch of land featuring unrivalled views and can provide a beautiful secluded spot for you to pop the question. There are historic castles, medieval churches, and Iron Age forts to choose from and add to the impressive backdrop of your proposal too.
For a more cosmopolitan proposal, Cardiff (above) has plenty of top spots where you can ask for your loved one’s hand in marriage. Explore the lanes to find the perfect ring, plan a fine dining experience, or if you’re both sports fans, why not pop the question during a tour of the Principality Stadium - the home of Welsh rugby.
For traditional seaside fun, New Quay (above) is located along Cardigan Bay with its pretty beaches, picturesque harbour, and fishing town charm. Get down on one knee along the sandy shores and celebrate with a delicious meal at a quaint local restaurant as you watch the sunset over the bay. Make sure to keep an eye out for seals and bottlenose dolphins in the waters as you unwind.
Another of our favourite places to propose in Wales is the Brecon Beacons National Park (above). With breath-taking views, quaint towns and villages, and gorgeous landscapes, you’ll be certain to find the perfect spot in the area. Pop the question under the stars as the Brecon Beacons is an International Dark Sky Reserve and experience some incredible night sky viewings to add to the special occasion.
