Pembroke Holidays |

Choose from a variety of accommodation to suit your stay

Pembroke can be found in South West Wales and is a beautiful and interesting place to visit for a holiday. Although technically inland, the town is surrounded by water, with the coast and many sandy beach resorts a short drive away and the Pembroke River flowing past. This means that a Pembroke holiday offers so much more than just a beach holiday, whilst also still having that option available for day trips to build sandcastles and eat ice creams next to the sea.

Pembroke is a historical market town that oozes a proud history, King Henry the VII was born here and history is visible around every corner. The Main Street of Pembroke is still enclosed by the original inner wall, and the town has grown outwards from there ever the first structures were built in about 950AD. Shopping in Pembroke offers everything expected of a large town including large brands and chains, smaller and unique stalls plus the convenient cafes and bistros for a relaxed shopping day.

The grand and dominating Pembroke Castle sits at the end of Main Street, and is surrounded by water on three sides. The castle walls and battle towers stand tall around the outside, looking like a true medieval castle seen in films. Inside the grounds, between the labyrinth of corridors that make up the walls and towers, the rest of the Pembroke Castle has unfortunately disappeared over time. The rest of the ground inside is green grass and open to the elements. The castle makes the most of this open ground, holding regular visitor events such as Circus Days, Story Telling, Living History Days, Falconry displays and Christmas stalls.

Moving away from the centre of Pembroke, the surrounding area has much more to offer. To the south, miles of green fields and stunning scenery can be found allowing hours’ worth of walking through nature, or driving to find a secret romantic place to have a spot of lunch. And all around the Pembrokeshire coast secluded beaches lay waiting to be found. Some are small and will need trekking to, perfect for dog walkers or couples looking for long strolls. Others are more commercial and can be easily accessed by families for fun days outside in the sun.

Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm are two large family attractions the are based to the North East of Pembroke that allow a fun filled family holiday in all types of weather. Heatherton Activity Leisure Park, The Dinosaur Park, and Go Karting and Quad Biking centres are also all within Pembrokeshire area and a short drive from Pembroke. All of this is perfect for the complete family holiday.

Of course no Welsh holiday is complete without the perfect accommodation to go with it. A Pembroke holiday can be enhanced by having a luxury room in a hotel that provides activities and entertainment for a family holiday. For a couples holiday a small self-catering cottage could be ideal for that perfect romantic break. Search below through our Stay In Wales accommodation to find the right Pembroke holiday for you.
