This cosy cottage is perfect for young families that want to get out and explore the countryside in a wildlife-rich part of West Wales.

This charming property is ideal for families that love the great outdoors. Set in the Wildlife Trust’s Teifi Marsh Nature Reserve, you’ve got the countryside on the doorstep. The children will love playing in the Cherry Tree Adventure Park, discovering the Willow Maze and even meeting the resident water buffalo. The on-site restaurant is worth a visit to for hearty meals, but there are also plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants in Cardigan (4.5 miles by road; 1.5 miles on foot via a footpath). While you’re there, take a wander around Cardigan Castle and the stunning grounds. Head up to the Poppit Sands Beach (7 miles) which is also the start of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and is ideal for dog walking.

Head into the open-plan living area where there are comfortable sofas, the perfect place to snuggle up in in the evenings. You’ll find exposed stone walls throughout the property which add to the country-style feel of the cottage. The kitchen area has a farmhouse style and contains everything you need to cook up a storm, including an electric hob and oven, fridge and microwave. The main bedroom is a cosy double with a bright and airy feel, while the second bedroom is a bunk room so is perfect for kids. Out of both bedroom windows, you may spot some wildlife in the plants and trees directly outside. The bathroom completes the property and has a shower over a ¾-size bath with calming neutral-coloured tiles.

Outside, there’s a small garden with wild shrubs and a garden bench. There’s also off-road parking available.

This is our second stay at Oak Tree Cottage & we enjoyed it as much as the first! The location is just amazing, it's so quiet in the mornings & evenings with so much wildlife to be seen. It also feels safe with the security on site. It's accessible to the coast as well with lots of places to visit & things to do. Canoing on the river & dolphin watcRead morehing were two highlights! We rarely return to somewhere as like to explore new places but I feel we will be back once again to this one! Hide

We loved the reserve but the cottage was horrible. Very cosy but dirty. Filthy under the beds and the bed sheets on the top bunk were covered in dust. The shower has no window and a bad fan, so it doesn't vent at all. Had to break out the mould cleaner on the bathtub (mould was not from us!). The pillows smelt of smoke which we reported after our fRead moreirst night. They said they'd take care of it... but we heard no more about it all week. Looks isolated in photos but it faces the staff car park. Hide

The cottage was small and whilst there are sufficient beds for four (2 adults and two children), being in such a small space with children and no TV or Wi-Fi could be a challenge if the weather was inclement. That said as a couple wanting an escape to the country, it was an immersive location, and the promise of seeing an otter and kingfishers was Read morefulfilled. The cottage is great for its location, compact and warm. Suitable for an outdoor holiday. The cafe at the centre is brilliant for meals and snacks. On the Sunday we had a reserved table.

This is a great little cottage situated within the grounds of the Teifi Marshes Nature reserve. Would suit wildlife lovers and photographers who want to use the cottage as a base to stay. Although small the cottage is quaint and although no TV or wifi is a comfortable place to stay and great little kitchen

A very small cottage on a wildlife reserve. The cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway, which is exactly what we wanted. The lack of television and wifi was a massive bonus, and makes the retreat just that! The reserve is ideal for wildlife spotting, the location of the cottage was perfect, and the oak tree from which it gets its name was one of thRead moree best spots for seeing woodpeckers! Only negative was that we failed to see an Otter or a Kingfisher! Hide

Small cottage but had everything we needed for an amazing family holiday. Location is secluded but yet only a short walk from town. Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to others.
