Unique romantic period cottage with quirky outdoor bath, summer house and large garden, on the edge of Bethesda. Explore the countryside, coast and culture in North Wales and Snowdonia National Park.

This is the perfect location to just relax or go exploring. Bethesda itself boasts a local pub and shop. Pop to the nearby towns of Llanberis, Capel Curig, Betws-y-Coed, Bangor, Caernarfon and Anglesey with their attractions, harbours, shops, galleries, eateries, activities, and events. Stroll through nature reserves such as Cwm Idwal, join the footpaths across Snowdonia National Park and Wales Coastal Path, climb to Snowdon’s peak or wander along the beaches. Visit Zip World or Surf Snowdonia, Caernarfon or Penryhn Castles, the Secret Gardens or National Trust’s Plas Neuadd, go underground at the Slate Cavern or to Electric Mountain, take a boat trip or ride on Snowdon Mountain Railway. Whatever your interest, you’ll find it here.

Walk into the hall with the boot room, also known as the map room, to your right with oodles of space for your coats and shoes. To your left is the beautiful lounge with decadent velvet sofas to snuggle up on, a Smart TV with Netflix, a feature fireplace with a roaring wood burner and a CD player for your favourite tunes. If you decide to eat in, the elegant kitchen is equipped with an electric range oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a Delonghi coffee machine, alongside all the thoughtful little extras creating a lovely space to cook in. The intimate dining room is a real treat to share your meal together and plan your activities for your holiday. When ready to retire, head up the steep and narrow stairs for a lovely leisurely bath or shower in the splendid bathroom with a bath, shower and WC. Lastly is the magnificent bedroom with a super-king-size bed and a gargantuan window seat laden with cushions to embrace the fabulous views towards the Menai Straits. What an amazing view to wake up to and start your day.

Outside is full of surprises too: the outside bath, with hot and cold running water, nestles under a sail in the paved courtyard with a table and chairs. This is accessed via the kitchen or you can walk around from the front garden, which also has a table and chairs, perfect to enjoy morning coffee. Take 50 paces from the front door round to the secret garden mostly laid to lawn with a summer house, perfect for an artist’s studio, yoga or to just relax with a good book. Embrace the mountain view from the top terrace, enjoy majestic sunsets and when returning to the cottage, help yourself to seasonal herbs and produce from the garden. If you are bringing your bikes, paddleboards or canoes, there is ample storage in the garden store. Private parking is available for two cars at the property.

Had a lovely time at the cottage! It was really comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. Was snowing during our stay and the cottage was nice a warm and the views were beautiful. Will definitely stay again.

Clean, warm, comfortable, very well thought out, you want for nothing. The living room was cosy & warm especially when the burner was on. The nest system was easy to use which meant the balance between the log burner & central heating was managed easily. Lovely cottage - perfect for comfort and walking with plenty of site seeing options nearby. The owners left a wonderful welcome pack and couldnt do enough to make sure our stay was perfect. We will stay again I am sure.

Mountain Escape is a lovely cottage which has been tastefully decorated and thoughtfully equipped. A great location to access all the attractions and outdoor pursuits of North Wales. This is one of the very best holiday let's we've had the privilege to use. Perfect for a couple and their well behaved dog.

Excellent property and location. Sue was very helpful and attentive to any questions or needs we had. The cottage was immaculately clean and well equipped for our stay. A beautiful cottage that is a real home from home. Equipped with everything you could possibly need . Lovely garden with summerhouse, barbecue and an amazing quirky outside bath. A very generous welcome pack was a lovely surprise with homemade cakes and treats. An excellent base for exploring this area of North Wales.

This is a lovely, comfortable, clean and cottage in a very quiet location. Its a great area for walks, with a few you can join just a short walk from the cottage itself, or you can drive to nearby locations including Anglesey.

Our holiday at Mountain Escape was delightful. Our hosts welcomed us with a selection of goodies! The cottage is beautifully presented and equipped and has a warm and relaxing atmosphere. This cottage is absolutely fantastic. It is spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It is extremely well equipped and has everything that you could possibly want in a holiday cottage. There was good communication with the owner, who left a very generous welcome pack. I would certainly book this cottage again.

The cottage was absolutely stunning. The decor was warm and welcoming. A very welcome selection of goodies was there to welcome us. Just made everything perfect to chill after a long drive. The cottage was perfect. Lots of attention to detail we couldnt fault the cottage at all.The outside bath was great wasnt sure wed use it as it was cold at night but we braved the elements and dipped several times. Big thank you to the hosts who were very attentive. Great base to be at to explore the areas. Will definitely be returning.

This is a beautiful well thought out cottage in a beautiful location. The special touches from the owners such as the homemade cake and basket of goodies all really add to create a warm welcome on arrival. It is a great spot to explore the local area or further afield - highly recommended!

The cottage is wonderful and in a perfect location and Sue and Martin are so welcoming. Just be aware that if you have a dog, the outside court yard area is not secure, and a big dog can jump the wall or get through the gate. If your dog does not do any of that, then it is perfect.

Lovely warm, comfortable and very well equipped cottage. The bedroom is in the eaves and so you need to watch your head in one area but this small inconvenience is more than compensated for by the super king-size bed the decor and the wonderful window seat ( piled high with cushions) with views over The Menai Straits.

Wonderful cosy cottage with everything you can want, and more (the delivery of home-baked brownies was a real treat!) There is a lovely large sofa for chilling (a must have) log burner, a window-seat upstairs in the bedroom with fantastic views, and the location is perfect for exploring the part of Snowdonia - 20 mins to most places.

Although the cottage is set up for 2 guests maximum you never felt squeezed or uncomfortable. All rooms had ample space. View from upstairs bedroom was exceptional with the Menai Straight in the distance. Nothing was lacking in comfort or facilities with the little goodies left by the owners much appreciated. Will be returning.
