This pretty mid-terrace cottage is situated in the village of Llansaint which was developed in the 5th and 6th-century between Kidwelly and Ferryside and makes for a great base to explore the coast and countryside around Carmarthen Bay. Enjoy seaside walks and rock pooling along this rugged coastline or head to Pembrey Country Park for forest walks and cycle paths. Take the ferry from Ferryside (2 miles) to Llansteffan to witness some magnificent views from the castle on the hill. Book a ‘tee’ time at Glynabbey Golf Course (6.5 miles) or experience a day out at Fos Las Racecourse (6.5 miles).

Step through the vibrant pillar box red front door into this relaxing and cosy cottage with an open-plan lounge/diner. Curl up on the soft sofa in front of the wood burner after a busy day of adventures and unwind with a good book or your favourite show on the Smart TV. Stepping through the ground floor to the rear of the property is a charming kitchen area which has been lovingly handcrafted and provides everything you need. Leading from the kitchen is a bright conservatory room which is ideal for sipping your morning coffee with a newspaper. Heading up the wooden staircase you are greeted with a light and spacious king-size bedroom which provides a peaceful retreat for a good night’s sleep and a Smart TV for those lazy lie-ins. The cockle shells placed within the walls are a lovely reminder of the village’s history. Enjoy sea views from the en-suite bathroom. Step through the conservatory into a communal hallway (shared with a neighbouring holiday cottage) which provides access to the enclosed, shared garden at the rear with a patio area, garden furniture and charcoal BBQ, perfect for sipping a sundowner and enjoying some alfresco dining.

Within the close proximity (less than 2 miles) of 'Cockle Shell Cottage' you will find another two cottages belonging to the same owner, which are also available to book - 'Kidwelly Cottage' and 'Kidwelly Hillside Cottage' which are located in the heart of the village of Kidwelly.1 bedroom - king-size

The cottage was well equipped and tastefully decorated. The location was good for anyone interested in walking the Wales Coastal Path. Kidwelly has an important Norman castle with a wealth of historical information, the Norman church is well worth a visit. Checkout Ferrysides ferry over to Llansteffan which also boasts a Norman Castle. Its not surpRead morerising that Wales has the greatest concentration of castles in Europe. Top spot. Hide

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location, if you want a bustling town dont pick this one. In easy distance to everything and plenty to explore. We loved it.

Beautiful cottage, very well equipped and looked after to a very high standard. Lovely bathroom! The owners were very helpful and informative. Lots of walks from the village - a fairly remote location, but a short drive to a pub or a shop.

We had an amazing week. The cottage was absolutely beautiful - clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for us and two spaniels. The conservatory was a lovely place to sit after a long walk and the dogs loved the garden. The location was brilliant - we hardly ventured more than about 10 miles. A beautiful cottage with everything we needed for our two week holiday. The owners are lovely and were only at the end of the phone if we needed to ask anything. Fresh bedding and towels were provided at the end of our first week. Fresh eggs and a cake welcomed us which was a nice touch. Just spent an amazing week in this beautiful little cottage, so much so we didn't want to go home. It catered for everything you needed , the owners Gill & john were fantastic and full of information of places to visit . The peace and quiet of the area was definitely an added bonus . Now, one day after we are back home in Germany, which is also quite beautiful, we are still dreaming about it. The landlords have lovingly renovated this little treasure for years and have chosen the furnishings so carefully that they make it look like it was designed by a professional interior designer. A gem of a cottage. The hosts attention to detail was fabulous. So well equipped and very cosy with lovely decor. Very comfy bed and lovely modern bathroom. Everything was spotless. Lovely to have fresh eggs and Bara Brith on arrival!

If you want comfort, peace and tranquility this is the place for you. I can not recommend this cottage enough, the interior is beautiful, in keeping with the cozy feel Of a cottage. It has everything you could possibly want and incredibly lovely owners. The love they have poured into this home is evident. From the Moment we walked in we felt at homRead moree and at peace.
