Escape to this stylish shepherd’s hut for two, and the dog, nestled in an idyllic rural setting. Located on the River Ceiriog, it is just over a mile from Chirk where there is a selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and an atmospheric castle. Nearby Llangollen (8 miles) boasts steam trains, horse-drawn canal boats and the River Dee, while the market town of Oswestry (7 miles) is home to a golf course, and Ellesmere (7 miles) is famous for its racecourse. Walkers and cyclists can explore the trails on the Offa’s Dyke Path, the Horseshoe Pass or World’s End to name a few, while thrill-seekers should make the most of the white-water rafting and canoeing in the local area.

Walk up the steps into this uniquely styled shepherd's hut with gorgeous interiors and all your creature comforts, not forgetting the fabulous views from all the windows. If you decide to eat in, the kitchen area is well-equipped to rustle up a meal with local produce purchased on your travels. The bistro table and chairs are the perfect setting for a romantic meal. After dinner, relax on the chairs, listen to the radio, snuggle up to watch TV, or just embrace the view and listen to birdsong with the French doors open to the raised deck area. Switch on the wood burner-effect electric fire for cosy nights and plan your holiday activities. When you’re ready to go to sleep, the double bed is waiting. A stylish shower room completes the interior of the hut.

The property nestles in stunning grounds, with views over the garden, fields and river. Relax in the wood-fired hot tub, sit on the deck, walk down to the gravelled area with a picnic beach, light the charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining, or unwind by the fire pit. There’s a cycle rack for your bikes and don’t forget your fishing tackle as you can enjoy salmon and other native game species fishing here.

The Ceiriog Hot Tub Hideaway at Forge Farm is a lovely little retreat perfect for a weekend away in the wilderness. Fiona has perfectly updated the Shepherds hut and modernised it while keeping it comfortable and cosy! Only a short drive away to Chirk its really well placed but still gives you a vibe of being in the great outdoors of North Wales. FRead moreiona as a host was really helpful and approachable and made us feeling really welcome during our stay. We had a lovely time there and would go again Hide
