A sympathetically restored cottage with open-plan living space, perfect for families wanting to explore the many attractions that are within easy reach within the Brecon Beacons National Park.

The village of Nantyglo stands at the head of the Ebbw-Fach valley, amid a rugged landscape of typically Welsh countryside. The village is well served with a range of shops, traditional pubs and a nearby old-fashioned cinema. The farm includes the Roundhouse Towers which are within the walled grounds and steeped in history relating to the iron works and industrial unrest. Enthusiastic golfers can tee off at the highest tee in Great Britain at the West Monmouthshire Golf Club. Families can explore the Brecon Beacons with many attractions that include; The Blaenavon Heritage Railway and Iron Works, Waterfall Country and the National Showcaves Centre for Wales. You can explore the mountains by foot, bike or horseback, or simply take in the peaceful canal and reservoirs.

The larger of the three cottages within the restored terrace and once a former barn, step in off the terrace and back in time. The ground floor offers an open-plan living space finished with a contemporary twist enhancing the exposed stone work and original iron work supports that cleverly divide the space. Perfect for small families or friends getting together, there's space to relax with a comfortable sofa and armchair around a wall mounted TV, and a dining table and chairs for four with mood lighting. The chef of your group will appreciate the well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and dishwasher. And when the day is done, climb the solid wooden staircase to the landing where you will find two bedrooms. A double with dual-aspect views across the surrounding countryside and a twin room also enjoying stunning views. There is a shower room with rainwater shower and WC. The landing space offers further storage and an armchair where you can hide away, read or just enjoy the views.

You can access the rear of the cottage via the living space, the garden offers an open aspect across the back of the terrace where you can relax on one of the comfortable benches. There is a further enclosed space to the side which is perfect for dogs. There is on site parking for cars and storage is available for bikes or canoes. Electric vehicle charging is available on site. This is at an extra charge paid directly to the owner.

Cottage was lovely, thank you so much. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the place, the heating and all the amenities provided. A great little holiday home in a well accessible area, with local shops and restaurants. Owners accommodated our requests for a travel cot and checked in to see if we needed anything. Would highly recommend.

This is a beautiful renovation and a wonderful cottage. We visited in mid September the weather being a times very damp as therefore muddy. It would have been useful to have a washing machine/dryer for use of the three cottages given this is marketed as a 5* property.

We had a lovely time here with our dog. It was in a good location to access the Brecon Beacons, but out of the hustle and bustle, so quiet. The cottage is well decorated and the beds were comfy. There is an enclosed private garden which is lovely to sit in on sunny days, but if rainy then the TV had Netflix etc. which was great. The kitchen was faiRead morerly well stocked with equipment but I would recommend bringing your own dishcloth, tea towels etc. I would definitely suggest the house to friends. Hide

Fabulous collection of cottages in a good location. Perfect as a base for walking or cycling and only a short distance from several bike parks or pump tracks. Locked cycle shed also available for bike storage.

Lovely, lovely cottage! Beautifully presented and furnished, very comfortable. Great places to eat in local town: Bella & Bueno for Italian (great vegan pizza as well!), Bridgend Inn for large portions of good food, Brynmawr Indian for lovely vegan food as well as standard. Great walks nearby, although fly tipping wasn't wonderful at Llanhilleth CoRead moremmon (but interesting to get close to windmills, and lots of skylarks). Interesting places nearby to visit: Big Pit and Dan Yr Ogof caves. Hide
