Enjoy this peaceful location within walking distance to Colmere and a short drive from Ellesmere, surrounded by rolling countryside to explore. Whatever your interest, it is all within easy reach, whether it’s good food, boutique shopping, castles, country houses and gardens, steam trains, horse drawn canal trips, theatre, music events or just relaxing. Discover Oswestry’s history on the town trail, great for walking, and enjoy the culinary delights from the farmers market and local eateries. Take one of many footpaths and cycling trails at nearby Colmere and Ellesmere, including National Trail Offa’s Dyke and Tanat Valley. Take a horse drawn canal ride in Llangollen, visit Welshpool with its steam trains or head to medieval Shrewsbury. This really is an all year-round destination.

The owners also live on-site, though privacy is assured. The former granary has been sympathetically created with the original roof, hand-made bricks and has eco credentials, with all your creature comforts including air source underfloor heating and a cosy wood burner. As you enter this stylish detached property, hang up your coats and walk into the lounge/kitchen/diner with lovely views from the feature windows and bi-folding doors. The kitchen area is well-equipped with the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Maybe enjoy some seasonal produce from the gardens as part of your meal, whilst you enjoy a meal at the dining table perfectly positioned by the picture window to embrace the view over the garden and countryside. After a full day out relax in the lounge on the comfy sofa, plan your holiday activities, listen to music, watch a film on TV or lose yourself in a good book. Open the bi-folding doors to really let the outside in or for cosy nights in, light the wood burner and snuggle up on the sofa. The bedroom has been designed for a good night’s sleep with luxury linen on the comfortable king-size bed, and enjoy a leisurely shower in the stylish en-suite shower room and WC. A fantastic cosy hideaway for two people, can't fault it. EV charging made it just like being at home and not needing to plan it into where we parked on days out.

Lovely cottage with lovely hosts and with all amenities to make you feel at home. The cottage has its own beautiful surroundings and the many small towns and villages nearby are all set in nice countryside. We certainly hope to stay here again in the future.

This is a beautiful, comfortable cottage in an amazing location it is one of the best we have stayed in. We had a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing holiday and could have happily stayed for longer. Although the cottage is in a very quiet location there are plenty of things to do and see without having to travel too far.

The Bolt hole is a wonderful place to stay, very homely, clean, totally equipped with every thing you could want for a quiet peaceful holiday, a wonderful setting to unwind and still in easy traveling of so many tourist attractions. A perfect getaway in beautiful Shropshire countryside. We loved every minute of our stay in the Bolthole cottage. Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and a well equipped kitchen. The "Bolthole" cottage is a perfect place to spend time in Shropshire as it's well placed for exploring the lakes, canals and hills nearby. The setting of the cottage is superb and the cottage is well-equipped, with kind thoughtful and unobtrusive hosts in Jane and George. The gardens are sublime and I wished we'd stayed in more to simply sit and wRead moreatch the sunrise/sunset. The Bolt Hole is a relaxing and hidden gem. Surrounded with wildlife and birds you don't need to be out and about all the time, just sit in the garden and take it all in. The cottage is well equipped and clean and the hosts are welcoming. Can't wait to go back.
