A great location at the foot of the Skirrid Mountain, this traditional two bedroom cottage has been finished with a contemporary twist creating the perfect base for couples or two friends wanting to explore the Brecon Beacons.

Perfect for a couple or two friends who prefer a bedroom each and situated on a working farm with on-site craft centre and gallery, Chaff House enjoys a peaceful location on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons and within 20 miles of Wye Valley. There is a lot to explore by foot and The Skirrid, one of the smaller mountains with a stunning view, is just 2 miles from the property. Only 3 miles away is the market town of Abergavenny where you can take advantage of their weekly farmers market or relax with an afternoon tea at the famous Angel Hotel. This area is steeped in history with some of Europe’s finest surviving castles such as Abergavenny Castle set against the spectacular hills and Crickhowell Castle (8 miles), a prominent feature of this picturesque market town. For the more adventurous, try canoeing or kayaking on the River Wye at Symonds Yat, or for something more leisurely, a trip on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal or spend the day browsing the many book shops in Hay on Wye (only 40 minute drive away).

Enjoying the views across the countryside before you step inside, you will quickly see how this traditional cottage has been lovingly finished with a contemporary twist. Leave your boots by the door after a day exploring and enter the conservatory, with ample space for the dining table for four, along with two comfortable chairs where you can sit back with a good book, enjoying the ever changing colours outside. Step from here into the lounge, a spacious room finished with stylish colours and soft furnishings, and where the underfloor heating will welcome you along with the relaxing sofa, armchair, and Smart TV with Freeview, Netflix and Amazon Prime. An open archway leads to the kitchen area, which is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher and washer/dryer. A small breakfast bar with two stools is ideal for a quick morning coffee. When the day is done, climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find two double bedrooms, (one is a zip and link) and a beautifully tiled shower room with a double walk-in rain shower and WC. There is a large chest of drawers and wardrobe on the landing for you to share.

Outside is ample space for you to relax and enjoy the views across the countryside. There is a patio with a small table and chairs along with a grassed area, and another table and chairs to the front of the cottage, looking out to the craft centre. There is off-road parking in front of the cottage for two.

Lovely location up a quiet country lane. Property was spotless and had everything you need for a great time away. Beds were very comfortable. House felt bright and airy. Views are amazing and plenty of places to walk and this is a great base for visiting the attractions of Wales.
