Bursting with character and traditional features, this former carriage stable block is the perfect choice for a relaxing countryside holiday with loved ones in the heart of the Welsh countryside.

The Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal is located within close proximity to the house and is a great location for scenic walks along the tow path or for hiring a boat for the day. Meander around the thriving market town of Abergavenny (2 miles) where you’ll discover some fantastic local produce, shops and places to eat. The house is just outside the village of Llanfoist, which the Sustrans cycle network passes through, making this a great location for keen cyclists. The national park itself offers plenty of activities, from climbing to horse riding. For those wanting to enjoy a taste of rural life but with the added bonus of convenience foods, a new development with Costa Coffee, Brewers Fayre restaurant and a McDonalds is located within 1 mile.

Once inside this luxurious property, you’ll discover a spacious sitting room with original beams and stone inglenook fireplace with a real flame gas fire, making this a lovely space to relax and unwind with everyone after a busy day seeing the sights. A CD system and large Smart TV give guests plenty of entertainment options too. The large table in the dining room can comfortably seat all of your guests, for long and leisurely meals or snacks, while the cottage-style kitchen comes equipped with everything you’ll need, including an electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. Steps lead down to a second sitting room/snug, with two armchairs and an ornamental fireplace, which is a super additional space if you’re looking to hide away and curl up with a good book or listen to some music. There is also a handy ground-floor cloakroom with WC, along with a shower room with a WC as well. A wooden staircase leads up to a delightful double bedroom with sloping ceilings and a dressing area featuring an antique wardrobe and silk covered shabby-chic style sofa. Accessed by a separate staircase and on the other side of the house you’ll discover the three remaining bedrooms. Two super-king-size rooms are on the first floor, each with their own en-suite which has a shower over the bath and a WC. Heading up to the second floor there’s a pretty twin room set in the eaves with sloping ceilings, along with its own en-suite bathroom with hand-held shower over the bath and a WC. Heading back downstairs and with a separate entrance door, the house also has a handy hanging cupboard which is perfect for storing coats and boots, along with a utility room with a washing machine, tumble drier and sink.

Step outside and soak up the peace and tranquillity that surrounds you, before firing up the BBQ and settling down in the courtyard garden area. A rattan effect dining table will ensure all meals can be served with comfort in mind and for relaxation there's a sofa seating area for the whole party to gather together. There is parking for three cars.

A lovely 3-night stay over the New Year with the family. I would recommend this cottage for large groups or a party with a teenager, as its spacious and one half of the cottage can operate as a separate annex. Very clean and a short drive from the town centre.

A lovely comfortable cottage with tasteful decor; spacious with great facilities. The owners made us feel really welcome going the extra mile with Easter decorations and eggs as well as Prosecco - a lovely start to our holiday. The location is ideal for exploring the area; great dog walks straight from the cottage and very convenient for shops; AbeRead morergavenny and the Black Mountains. We would love to visit again. Stunningly spacious cottage. Very well equipped kitchen. Wonderful patio area, plenty of space in the communal lounge/ dining area. Bedrooms were en-suite and beds were fantastically comfortable. We chose the property as it's perfectly positioned for wonderful walks on the door step and slightly further afield in the Brecons. Only 45 minutes to CarRead morediff. Abergavenny is a stones throw. A beautiful town with lovely shops. WIFI was reliable, just brilliant. Hide
