This quirky waterside property in the coastal village of Llwyngwril has plenty to offer couples looking to get away from it all. Llwyngwril, in Snowdonia National Park, is the ideal location for an idyllic and tranquil holiday. The village offers shops, a pub and a train station connecting you to Aberystwyth to Pwllheli. Relax with a picnic by the River Gwril while enjoying the sounds of flowing water and birdsong. For something a little more adventurous, head to Coed-Y-Brenin (14 miles) which has an array of cycle tracks to explore. The local coastline offers a pebble beach and provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy a stunning sunset. Fairbourne Beach (3 miles) has a 2-mile expanse of sand to enjoy.

This gated property, situated within the owner’s grounds, is a truly quirky garden retreat. As you enter, you will find a lobby with storage for boots and coats. There is a shower room just off the lobby which has a shower and a WC. From the lobby, enter the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. If you decide to eat in, the kitchen has been creatively designed and has a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The dining table is perfectly positioned to enjoy a meal together and plan your day’s activities. After a full day of exploring, relax on the sofa, snuggle up and watch your favourite film on the Smart TV and maybe light the wood burner for cosy nights in. When the night draws in, head off to the king-size bedroom which has plenty of storage space for all of your belongings.

French doors open out to the enclosed lawn area which has seating, a picnic table and a BBQ area, perfect for those summer al fresco meals. There are sun loungers which you can relax on while reading a good book or enjoy a game of boules or croquet with the sets provided. If you are bringing bikes, there is a bike rack which you are welcome to use.

Having recently spent a week here we will 100% return ..beautiful.idyllic.tranquil and the perfect base for our visit to North Wales ..both my wife, myself and our little dog had a fabulous time and Cath (owner) made us feel very welcome indeed absolutely loved it

What a fantastic find, we loved our stay. The fire was fabulous and warms the whole building for a cosy night in. Cath the owner was great, very informative and loads of good suggestions we enjoyed the train journeys out to nearby towns. We had the most wonderful stay in a little hidden gem, cath has thought of everything, the accommodation is lovely, clean and has everything you need. The 'House at the River' is an amazing place to stay. It is located in a lovely quiet village and provides a good base to walk or visit local preserved railways. The house by the side of the river has a great garden area to relax in or play games. Just the right place for a lovely holiday.

A very picturesque place to stay very clean with everything you need and close to the train station (2 min walk). Great view of the sky from the bedroom via the skylight and my wifes guide dog loved the large well attended garden. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

What a wonderful property - set in a beautiful secret garden. A fab place to relax after a walk on the beach or exploring Snowdonia. We had everything we needed incl two sunloungers. What a beautiful peaceful place,it was hard to leave the garden!! Wow. What a great little cottage in absolutely idyllic surroundings. The cottage stands in the owners grounds, but separated from the owners house by a river. The location is perfect, the cottage had everything we needed and more. Everything was in place to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The garden so peaceful and relaxing, close to the beach and a train to hop on for a day out. Can't fault it.

Stay at the lodge for 3 days, it was so lovely. Cath has supplied everything you need in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. It was a beautiful place to stay, the garden and the grounds have been completed so lovely with the river running between the lodge and the owners property. The cottage is set in a lovely space next to the river. The grounds are effectively fully enclosed which was great for out terrier and we didn't have to worry too much when he went for a stroll in the garden. The cottage is very comfortable and clean with a comfortable bed and sofa that makes the most of the available space. The property is in a great location near the beach, some great walking in the mountains of Snowdonia and the train station is 2 mins walk if you want to explore further up and down the coast. This is a very charming cosy cottage set in a small village. The gardens are stunning and an ideal place to relax in. Very quiet and peaceful. The train station is almost outside the back gate and is well worth taking a trip around the coast. The scenery is spectacular. Very easy to take our bikes on the train and cycle further afield. We had a great week at the cottage. It is well equipped, the garden is lovely and our two dogs loved running around it. Cath the owner was very helpful, always there if you need her but not in your face all the time. We would definitely recommend her place for a nice peaceful stay.
