At a glance

  • A beautifully finished country home situated within the heart of the Forest of Dean with large enclosed garden and seating area
  • Within easy reach of the Cannop Cycle Centre, Cycle paths and Symonds Yat for kayaking and rock climbing
  • A great base for exploring the Forest of Dean, Wye Valley and Welsh Borders
Property code: 76793

You will be well served by foot within the village of Whitecroft with two local village inns and a village store, perfect for morning papers and a fresh loaf of bread. For walkers wanting to leave the car behind, from the doorstep you can wander for miles along the forest tracks enjoying the rich forest and wildlife. The vintage steam railway is a stones throw and during the summer and autumn you can watch it chug past with all the nostalgia the sight of a steam train brings. For the historians, why not step back into forest history at The Dean Heritage Centre, the Hopewell Colliery and Clearwell Caves; and for family fun, why not visit Perrygrove Railways, Puzzlewood and Go Ape! If you find time to explore a little further afield, Symonds Yat is great for rock climbing, river walks, kayaking and caving.

The property is set over three floors. Entering onto the first floor, there is a large hallway going into a lounge area with wood burner, large seating area and TV. Completing this floor is a double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC. Going down to the ground floor you will find the kitchen/diner/conservatory, light, airy, spacious and welcoming, and the place the family will enjoy congregating for practically everything, including some fierce table football competitions. The kitchen is very well-equipped with electric oven and induction hob, microwave, American style fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A utility room also offers a washing machine and tumble dryer. The dining and conservatory area has plenty of seating and overlooks the sunken terrace and the forest beyond. Tucked away at the back of the property lies a den with deep sofas - cushions and blankets, the perfect place for the kids to snuggle down and watch some TV. Heading up to the second floor you'll find the final three bedrooms, two doubles, one with an en-suite shower and WC and one with an en-suite bathroom with roll top bath, shower attachment and WC, lastly is the master bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite shower and WC.

Step outside to enjoy the enclosed garden with an open aspect onto the countryside. The garden has a sunken terrace area with table and chairs for summer dining. There is off-road parking for three cars and bike storage. The River Lyd gently flows past the bottom of the garden.

Very spacious house over three floors. En suite in all bedrooms a real bonus, beds extremely comfortable. TVs in all rooms including in each living area.
