This exceptional four-bedroom cottage forms the perfect base for families and friends. Situated in a beautiful rural location, there are lots of wonderful scenic landscapes available to explore.

The cottage, which was once part of Buckland Hall Estate, overlooks the secluded Buckland parklands towards the River Usk and boasts breathtaking scenery from the spacious veranda and many of the rooms inside the house. Beautifully renovated to a very high standard, the property offers the perfect peaceful getaway for friends or families looking for a tranquil spot. The quaint village of Talybont-on-Usk is located 3 miles away and boasts pretty rivers, a canal, reservoir, several pubs, a restaurant, shop, and local arts and craft to peruse.

Enter the property via the spacious lobby with period furniture and a boot storage area, here you will find framed local maps hanging on the walls so you can quickly find your bearings and easily plan your daily outings. Wander through to the spacious open-plan kitchen/dining area which has been decorated in a country-cottage style with solid wooden features and a modern kitchen with a central island. This makes the space absolutely perfect for socialising and enjoying meals together. You will find everything you need here to prepare fresh and tasty food including an electric oven, five-ring hob and a dining table that can seat eight diners. There’s also a cosy seating area here with comfortable sofas and lovely views of the rural surroundings outside. There's a separate lounge with a large seven-seater sofa and additional chair, a Smart TV, and a wood burner for cosy, relaxed evenings in. If you are feeling competitive there's a chest full of board games or to while away some downtime a large selection of books to read. There are four bedrooms – one downstairs twin bedroom which can become a double by arrangement – and three upstairs bedrooms that all share the same classic but modern style that is both homely and stylish. The first upstairs bedroom is a super-king-size master room, and there is also another super-king-size room which has a low doorway through to a nursery room with two cots. There is also a bunk bedroom that’s suitable for children only. Two bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) complete the accommodation.

The property continues to shine when it comes to its outdoor spaces. To the front of the cottage, you will find a veranda with a bench, patio table and chairs. The views from here are nothing short of breathtaking and can be enjoyed in the warmer months both day and night. Sunsets and stars will never look the same after viewing them from this special spot. To the side of the property, there is a quirky woodland garden that features a tree swing, picnic bench, and treehouse – a magical spot that’s ideal for both children and adults alike. There is plenty of private parking available outside too.

Booked the cottage over the Christmas weekend. Photos and descriptions as seen. The cottage /house had ample rooms and facilities to accommodate myself, my two daughters and their families, with their 1 and 2 year old boys. They bought travel cots with them. There is plenty of room and space, to have our meals and family time and also time to have Read moresome down time. There is lots of parking (we had 3 cars) and the house is in a hill rise which gives it lots of privacy and wonderful views. Hide

What a fantastic place. Thank you so much for making it so lovely a place to stay. Spacious but very cosy (we were only 4 but would still be spacious for 8), well equipped, idyllically peaceful but a great location for walks, bike rides and paddling the river Usk.

Lovely cottage on a beautiful spot! We felt immediatly at home. Loved the space, decorations and the views. The kids really enjoyed playing in the treehouse. There was plenty to do in the Brecon Beacons: nature, culture, pubs, etc. We'd love to come back one day!
