Thanks to the river, canal, and reservoir, this area has a dreamy atmosphere. There are plenty of boat-watching and waterside strolls to inspire you, and friendly local pubs and restaurants where you can while the afternoon away. Or, for a more adventurous jaunt, head to the peaks of the Brecon Beacons. The height of South Wales, Pen y Fan, is just waiting to be climbed 9 miles away.
