Situated in a quaint coastal village, approximately 150 metres from the sea and across the water from Llansteffan Castle, this charming property is an ideal family seaside escape.

South of Carmarthen, Ferryside is a seaside village with plenty of character and charm. There’s railway access just metres from the home boasting one of the last remaining operating signal boxes, and this provides easy access to towns such as Carmarthen (10 miles) and Swansea (25 miles). You don’t have to travel far for fun though, with a splendid sandy beach metres from the door front, which is dog friendly all year round. Take a ferry boat across the River Towy to visit the village of Llansteffan and hike up to the castle where you can enjoy marvellous views across scenic farmlands and the shimmering river.

Entering through the front door of this 150-year-old cottage, you’ll find yourself in the entrance hall with plenty of space to kick off your boots and hang up your coats. To the right of the front door is a cosy lounge with a large open fire, perfect for those cold nights curled up in front of the Smart TV. To the left of the main entrance is a spacious and bright dining room, here you can enjoy mealtimes together or perhaps a fun family board game. Both front rooms connect with the kitchen at the back of the property. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a WC and separate shower room downstairs, ideal for washing those sandy toes before heading to the bedrooms. Upstairs are two double bedrooms at the front of the property, one with an en-suite shower room and WC, and both enjoying partial sea views. The third bedroom is a cosy twin overlooking the garden and completing the first floor is a family bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

A small, enclosed garden with an elevated patio area and dining set can be found at the rear of the property (accessed up a steep slope). Seating is also provided at the front of the property creating a great spot to sip your coffee as you watch the morning break. There is roadside parking in front of the property which is subject to availability.

We had a wonderful time at Ty Llwyd a great location for exploring both the Gower Peninsula and beyond Tenby. The cottage was warm, comfortable and well equipped - thank you to our hosts for the welcome pack too.

WOW.....what a little gem we found. We had a lovely, relaxing holiday in this beautiful, homely, cosy cottage. So clean, so well equipped ( especially the kitchen) , and so close to the beach. The beds were so comfortable we slept so well. Of all the properties we have stayed in this is by far the best. You will have to drive or catch the train to Read moreget to a shop. Nothing in the village except a pub, and a railway station but that didn't bother us. Certainly be returning at some point. Hide

What a fabulous property, had everything we needed. The little touches like tea, coffee, fresh milk there made it feel more homely. We plan on staying again if we go to the races at Ffos Las.

I can't recommend Ty Llwyd highly enough - just miles of beautiful, empty beaches and stunning sunsets. The house is less than a minute from he beach and we have loved swimming every day.
