This charming, detached cottage enjoys an elevated location within the hillside village of Bwlch, offering spacious and beautifully finished accommodation that is perfect for any occasion. The traditional village of Bwlch is well served with a lively village pub, and the neighbouring village of Llangynidr (2 miles), where you can access the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, also offers a shop, pubs, a tearoom, and a restaurant. Tretower Court and Castle (3 miles) welcomes visitors to its medieval barn to discover some remarkable history. The largest lake in South Wales, Llangorse Lake (5 miles), offers a range of activities such as paddleboarding, sailing and windsurfing. Pony trekking is available at both Cantref (6 miles) and Llangorse (5 miles). Walkers can make the most of the Black Mountains from the cottage and for those who wish for a slower pace, you can visit one of the many vibrant market towns including Crickhowell (6 miles) and Hay-on-Wye (13 miles). Renovated to a high standard whilst taking care of the environment, the cottage creates energy from solar panels and is heated with an air source pump.

On arrival up the stepped pathway you will enter through the stable door into a cosy lounge with a wood burner set in a feature stone recess. Relax on the sumptuous sofas and chairs while enjoying the magnificent views from the windows or settle down and enjoy watching the Smart TV. Leading from here into a spacious cool and contemporary kitchen/diner, with the kitchen space offering everything you may need for preparing a celebration supper. For dining, there's a generously sized table that fronts the glazed doors that open onto the huge infinity terrace. Here, you can relax whilst enjoying time with friends and family. There is a utility room off the kitchen that provides additional storage, a washing machine and a tumble dryer. During your stay you can arrive and leave from the boot room at the back of the house that adjoins the utility room, it’s the perfect place to remove and store outdoor footwear, coats and bags. There is also a ground-floor king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower and WC that is accessed up a few steep steps.

A wooden staircase offers access to the first floor. Here, guests have the choice of three bedrooms, each finished with its own eclectic style of vibrant colours and wallpapers, along with luxury bed linens, soft towels, vintage Welsh blankets, luxury bathrobes and handmade local Welsh soaps. Firstly, there’s a twin zip-and-link (which can be made up as a super-king-size upon request) with an en-suite free-standing bath and WC. Next, there’s a king-size room with an en-suite free-standing bath and WC, along with a glass-fronted balcony offering breathtaking views down the Usk Valley. A small hallway leads to a further twin zip-and-link room (which can be made up as a super-king-size upon request) with a glass-fronted balcony and an en-suite free-standing bath, shower and WC.

Outside, guests can make the most of the far-reaching stunning views from the infinity terrace. Enjoy lounging in total comfort on the garden furniture with a good book during the day or spark up the fire pit in the evening. Summer dining with friends and family around the table and chairs will make for a memorable experience, cook indoors and eat al fresco or fire up the gas BBQ. Don't let a drop in temperature bring you indoors - there's also a fire pit to keep you warm. For the more competitive members of the group there's table tennis available - perfect entertainment for all.
