This charming cottage attached to the owner’s home is ideal for couples that want to embrace the outdoors, offering access onto many trails and footpaths, suitable for both walkers and cyclists, from the front door. A great opportunity to leave the car behind and explore on foot, walkers can take advantage of the many way-marked footpaths and cyclists can choose from a fantastic network of challenging country lanes with breathtaking scenery. A little further afield, you can access the Hatterrall Ridge, where you can follow the Offa’s Dyke footpath across to the Hay Bluff or take the pathway down to Llanthony priory for a little history. The market town of Hay-on-Wye (9 miles) offers a weekly farmers’ market showcasing fresh local produce and crafts. The Globe hosts a variety of live music, comedians and plays with a cinema offering an eclectic choice of movies.

Surrounded by cottage gardens full of seasonal colour and wildlife, guests will access across the stone terrace into the cottage, beautifully finished with freshly painted stonework and hand-crafted wooden shutters. The cosy lounge makes a perfect retreat for two, here you can relax after a day exploring; snuggle up on the comfortable sofa with soft blankets in front of the wood burner and Smart TV. A window offers views onto the garden, and in summertime, open the main door where you can make the most of the gardens. The kitchen is accessed off the lounge, a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams enhances the contemporary design of the well-equipped kitchen that offers everything you will need for your stay. There is a small table and chairs for dining. Also on the ground floor is a stylish shower room, generously sized with a double shower and WC. A narrow staircase offers access to a double bedroom set within the eaves, finished with soft colours, and wooden floors and enjoying views across the gardens.

Outside, guests have a terraced patio that fronts the cottage with table and chairs, guests are also welcome to explore the grounds. There is secure storage for bikes.

This cosy, little cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway from the busy city life. It is nestled between endless fields of farmland. The cottage has all the amenities needed to cook, the water pressure in the shower is incredible and it has a real fireplace with a stack of firewood to keep you warm. The cottage is in a quiet rural location, an ideal place to relax or as the starting point for cycle rides and walks. Hereford and Hay, the Wye Valley and Black Mountains are within easy reach. The cottage has been constructed to a high standard, in particular the hot water was very efficient and the lighting levels were good enabling us to read in the evenings with no problem.
