The North of Wales is a quiet area and a visit here removes the hustle and bustle of busy life. The roads are bendy, the scenery beautiful, the towns quaint and friendly. On the north coast the beaches stretch for miles, lined with everything that that make a seaside holiday complete. Ice creams, cheesy souvenirs, learning new water sports and cafes on the beach side are quintessential ways to spend family time together along the coast.

Inland is the breathtaking Snowdonia National Park. Here, among the rolling hills and green countryside, lies the highest point in England and Wales, Mount Snowden. Getting to the summit as a family is a rewarding and worthwhile experience. Many make a day of it and hike up to the top, making use of the landscape and fantastic views for photograph opportunities. A family picnic at the top, overlooking the surrounding area is something everyone can enjoy. A traditional train also takes visitors up and down the mountain, meaning anyone can enjoy seeing the views from the top of Wales.

Further south, along the West Coast, the beaches and small villages make the most of being in remote locations, attracting visitors with charm and a peaceful atmosphere. Some villages are hidden in valleys where rivers meet the sea, with one pub and one shop they feel disconnected from the outside world. Others sit on top of hills and offer stunning views for miles around, bendy paths lead through fields and down the cliffs to secret beaches and unknown rock pools. Some of the bigger towns have activity centres for both water and land based excursions; horse ride together, learn to surf or sail, abseil down rock faces or race each other on quad bikes or kayaks for fantastic family holiday days out.

The south of Wales contains the most life and busiest areas. Cardiff, Swansea and Newport offer large shopping centres, music and sporting events and art exhibitions plus a busy nightlife for the adults and engaging days out for the children. If staying in the south the towns and cities do not dominate though, more sandy beaches and small villages scatter the coast, and inland the Brecon Beacons National Park awaits with its domination landscape, green hills and picture worthy scenery. In the southwest of Wales the Pembrokeshire Coast is an area of outstanding national beauty that offers miles of walks and treks.
