With the Easter holidays approaching fast, you may start to look for some fun events and things to do to keep the kids entertained over the break. We’ve picked out a few of our favourite Easter activities in Wales that the whole family will enjoy.

Hosting an array of activities, Cardiff Castle (above) has plenty of events held over a few days for everyone to enjoy. From Friday 25th to Sunday 3rd April, there will be a big Easter Trail where clues around the castle will lead to a special prize, and on Easter Sunday the 27th March and Monday the 28th, there is the Easter Fun event. Get involved with egg rolling, decorating and spoon races, as well as combat and archery displays. On Friday 1st of April, there is an exclusive opportunity for children to learn how to sword fight under the expert tuition of The Warwick Warriors. Special courses for 5-9 year-olds and 10 and overs are being held. On Saturday 2nd April and Sunday 3rd, The Warrick Warriors are back with fun displays to watch and there is a spell-binding storytelling session with Dylan Adams. Why not dress the kids up in costume and become part of their own medieval adventure!
On selected dates from Friday 25th March, Dinefwr Park and Castle will be holding its very own Cadbury Easter Trails. Follow the trail and be rewarded with a scrumptious chocolate bunny at the end. A great fun and educational attraction, adults will enjoy the scenic setting of the National Trust retreat too. There is also Easter Egg Trails at Tredegar House in Newport and various other National trust properties across Wales.
For visitors to North Wales, there is a fantastic Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the timeless Llaberis Lake Railway. Search the steam engine train and station for chocolatey treats and there are extra fun prizes to be won. In West Wales, there is an Easter hunt with a difference at Llanelli Wetland Centre where instead of searching for the usual chocolate eggs, you’ll be faced with the challenge of finding giant yellow rubber ducks. Hidden amongst the beautiful grounds, keep your eyes peeled as you help Llanelli Wetland Centre track down their missing ducks. There are also other fun activities to get involved with from den building to craft workshops and a special flamingo watch!
There are fantastic Easter activities in Wales that are perfect for the kids to enjoy and are a great family day out. If you are heading to Wales on holiday, we have a fantastic selection of cottages across the country which will provide a comfortable and memorable stay.
