Set in the simply splendid coastal village of Ogmore-by-Sea, lying between Southerndown and Porthcawl in the Vale of Glamorgan. This lesser-known village has a super beach, which is just yards from the property, enjoyed throughout the year by both families and surfers alike. There is a very popular cafe just along the road and a craft shop too. The coastal path offers breath-taking scenery in either direction. Visit Ogmore Castle a 2 mile drive or walk way, or perhaps visit the remains of Dunraven Castle and the walled garden in Southerndown. For the discerning shopper, Cowbridge is a short drive with a range of independent shops and Cardiff city is slightly further afield. (Please check admittance for the various attractions).

Laid across three floors to make the most of the wonderful sea views, you enter the hallway on the entrance level floor. On this floor there is a small double bedroom and a wet room with an easy access wheelchair friendly shower and WC and a separate WC. There is also a reception lounge with TV/DVD with fabulous sea views. Head down a half flight of open tread stairs to the main lounge, set on the ground floor. This can be accessed via the stairlift which can transport you to the ground floor if needed. This super space has comfortable sofas, an open fire and stunning sea and beach views. The perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. Head across the small hallway to the kitchen, which again has great coastal views along with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher. There is also a utility room with a tumble dryer and a large American fridge/freezer and sink facilities. It is also handy for keeping any surfing equipment tucked away. From the kitchen you can head through to the dining room which has floor to ceiling views and doors to the outside, so you can let the outside in during those warmer months. Back up the stairs to the entrance level floor and up an additional flight to the first floor, is where you will find the three further bedrooms, two doubles, and a further single bedroom, also with an additional single pull-out bed, all with excellent sea views.

Heading outside to rear of the property,  there is an enclosed patio and decked area with panoramic sea views, there perfect spot to enjoy the evening sun. There is off-road parking for two cars on the driveway.

The layout is unusual and it is a bit run down but it was comfortable, warm and had everything we needed. It would have been good to know there was a stair gate as we took our own unnecessarily as our dog can't go on the wooden stairs. The outside areas could do with a good tidy up and the decking is unsafe and wobbly. Also a layout plan would be uRead moreseful in the listing due to all the different levels including big steps from thethe utility room to the kitchen. Hide

We loved this holiday! The layout of the house is a bit quirky, but that just adds to it's charm. Our party consisted of six adults and one dog! We were having trouble finding a property with three double beds (nobody wants a bunk bed!), and this place was ideal. The house had everything we could possibly need, and more besides. The view was stunniRead moreng, the sunsets amazing. We were very lucky with the weather, and we all enjoyed our time there. We were all reluctant to leave on the last day. Hide

An absolute gem of a house! So comfortable and homely. Everything has been thought about/provided for a really relaxing stay. And oh, those views! Breath-taking from so many rooms! Such a perfect location for the beach and coastal walks, whilst still being close enough for short drives to bigger towns. We absolutely loved our week here!

We all loved Somerset view and have already recommended it to someone else. It felt like home and no detail was spared. I seldom unpack when I enter a holiday home preferring to live out of my suitcase but not this time. Really happy to have spent a week in this welcoming home.
